Who we are

QuiltHelper (quilthelper.com) is a free website of quilting calculators. In this policy, "QuiltHelper", "we", "us" and "our" mean the operator of quilthelper.com. You can reach us at info@quilthelper.com.

Information we collect

Calculator inputs

The calculators run entirely in your browser. The sizes and options you enter are not sent to our servers and are not stored by us. When you follow a link from one calculator to another, the quilt size may be added to the page address so the next calculator can fill it in.

Information you send us

If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and the content of your message.

Information collected automatically

When you visit, our hosting provider and the third-party services described below may automatically collect technical information, such as your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, the date and time of your visit, and a general location derived from your IP address. Some of this is collected through cookies and similar technologies.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. QuiltHelper itself does not need cookies for the calculators to work. Our advertising and analytics partners use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies (such as local storage and device identifiers) to show and measure ads, limit how often you see the same ad, prevent fraud, and understand how the site is used.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you do, the calculators keep working, but ads may be less relevant to you.

Google advertising

QuiltHelper may show ads from Google AdSense to keep the calculators free.

Google Analytics

We may use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use QuiltHelper, for example which calculators are used most and which pages are hard to find. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information such as pages visited, time on site, and the type of device and browser. We use this information in aggregate to improve the site, not to identify you.

We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, provided by our hosting provider Cloudflare. It counts visits and measures page speed without cookies and without tracking you across other websites.

You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Consent choices

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we ask for your consent before cookies are used for personalized advertising or analytics, using a consent tool certified by Google. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the privacy settings link shown on the site. If you do not consent, you may still see non-personalized ads, which use cookies only for purposes such as frequency capping, aggregated reporting and fraud prevention.

Affiliate links

Some pages may include affiliate links to shops that sell quilting supplies. If you buy something after clicking one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The shop may use cookies to record that you came from QuiltHelper. Affiliate relationships never change the results of a calculator.

How we use information

How information is shared

We do not sell your personal information for money. Information is shared with, or collected directly by, the service providers that help run the site: our hosting provider, Google (for advertising and analytics), and the ad partners shown in our consent settings. We may also disclose information when required by law, or to protect the rights, property or safety of QuiltHelper, our users or others.

Retention and security

We keep emails only as long as needed to answer them and keep a record of corrections. Data collected by Google is kept according to Google's own retention settings and policies. We use reasonable measures to protect information, including HTTPS on every page, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Your US state privacy rights

Depending on where you live, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas and other states with privacy laws, you may have the right to:

• Know what personal information is collected about you, and access a copy of it.
• Correct or delete personal information.
• Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, or its use for targeted advertising. Using advertising cookies may count as "sharing" under some state laws.
• Not be treated differently for using these rights.

To opt out of targeted advertising, use Google Ads Settings, the privacy settings link on the site where shown, or turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser, which we treat as a valid opt-out request. For any other request, email info@quilthelper.com. We may need to verify your request, and we will reply within the time the law requires.

Your rights in the EEA and UK

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process personal information on the basis of your consent (for personalized ads and analytics cookies), our legitimate interests (running and securing the site, and answering messages), and legal obligations. You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal information, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. Your information may be processed in countries outside your own, including the United States, by the providers described above.

Children's privacy

QuiltHelper is a general-audience site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site or the law changes. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a significant change, we will make it clear on this page.
